Look at the details. Check that seams are straight and even, stitching is tight without loose threads, and patterns line up at the seams. Look at the lining and buttons, and see whether the fabric of the garment feels dense and holds its shape when gently stretched. Price and brand name don’t reliably indicate quality, so judge each piece on its construction.
